The Logo

The Transition

LaunchMate originally started off as ‘OnTap’. After conducting competitor research, design exploration, and conceptualising some initial logo ideas, the client came to the conclusion that the strong overlapping ‘space’ theme bared no connection to the brand name ‘OnTap’. The space theme was a key aspect to the business that the client wanted running throughout the tone of voice, imagery, and colour palette.

A new brand was born.

LaunchMate, the same product, and ethos but now, on a space mission to help the various planets (clients) in need of services by sending very talented, experienced, and skillful astronauts.

The Design Elements

The Space Mission

My goal was to create a brand that people could enjoy, and feel as if they were taking on a new space mission, exploring new planets in the galaxy. These were part of a number of planets created (in Figma) to allow the client full autonomy of colours, style, size, textures and more.

The Colours

A planet can be any colour, just depends on what they are made of and how its surface or atmosphere reflects and absorb sunlight.

Other elements included common coloured fonts, background textures and other design elements such as planetary orbit lines.
